How We Rate Bookmakers
Every bookmaker on MzansiWins is scored on a 5-point scale across seven categories. Each category carries a specific weight. Scores reflect observed test results, not promotional claims or advertiser relationships.
Testing Process
Each operator is tested through a real sign-up, a deposit, a withdrawal, and at least one contact with customer support. Results are recorded at the time of testing. When an operator makes a material change to its terms, payment options, or product, scores are reviewed and updated to reflect the current position.
Rating Categories
Bonus Terms (25%)
We record the headline bonus amount alongside wagering requirements, minimum deposit, expiry period, and eligible markets. The score reflects the overall value of the offer once all conditions are applied, not the headline figure alone.
Odds Quality (20%)
Odds are compared on identical PSL football, Springbok rugby, and international cricket fixtures across all bookmakers. The score reflects the average margin observed across a sample of markets.
Payment Speed (15%)
We test each deposit method and record the time from withdrawal request to funds received. Scores reflect tested processing times per method, not operator claims.
Sports and Casino Variety (15%)
We count markets available for PSL football, Currie Cup rugby, Proteas cricket, horse racing, and additional sports. For casino products, we record the number of game titles and live dealer tables available.
Platform Quality (10%)
We test the mobile site and app for load speed, navigation, bet slip usability, and stability. Tests are conducted on both iOS and Android where apps are available.
Live Betting (10%)
We record the number of in-play markets available during a major fixture, how quickly odds update, and whether cash out is offered on in-play bets.
Support Responsiveness (5%)
We contact support via available channels and record response time and whether the query was resolved. Scores reflect the result of at least one tested contact per operator.
Overall Score Calculation
The overall rating is the weighted average of all seven category scores, rounded to one decimal place:
Overall = (Bonus × 0.25) + (Odds × 0.20) + (Payment × 0.15) + (Variety × 0.15) + (Platform × 0.10) + (Live × 0.10) + (Support × 0.05)
This calculation is applied automatically at build time. There is no manual override for the overall score. If a sub-score changes, the overall rating changes accordingly. Affiliate relationships do not affect any scores or category weights.
Scores are updated when material changes occur at an operator, such as a change in withdrawal speed, a new bonus structure, or the addition or removal of payment methods.
