Bookmaker streaming in South Africa is mostly racing, and the football promises are thinner than the marketing suggests. Racing is the one sport where SA operators genuinely own or licence the pictures. Everything else depends on rights that change without warning.
So we've stopped listing competitions an operator hasn't published. Below is what each book says it streams, what it costs you to get in, and where the rights wall stops you. Where an operator won't say, we say that instead of guessing.
What SA Operators Publish About Streaming (September 2026)
| Operator | What it publishes | Access | Welcome Offer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hollywoodbets | Horse and greyhound racing on GallopTV, run with Gold Circle | Log in | View bonus |
| Sportingbet | A live video page covering football, tennis, basketball, rugby, cricket and more | Log in | View bonus |
| World Sports Betting | Racing on its own channel, plus streaming across various sports | Log in | View bonus |
| Betway | Live sports streaming in the app. No competition list published | In app | View bonus |
| Easybet | Horse racing only, UK, Irish, US and SA, in the app | In app | View bonus |
Sources: GallopTV, Sportingbet live video, World Sports Betting, Betway app page, easyBet on Google Play. All five hold South African provincial bookmaker licences.
10Bet South Africa is off this table. Their SA product does not carry live streaming, and we'd rather say that than pad the list.
How SA Bookmaker Streaming Works
What you typically need
- A logged-in account. Every SA operator we've checked gates video behind login
- Funding or a recent bet on some feeds. Racing streams in particular often want a funded balance or a bet placed in the last 24 hours
- A working connection. Video degrades on weak 3G, so WiFi or a strong 4G signal is the sensible option
Data usage
Streaming eats mobile data, and none of the SA books publish a figure for how much. Any number you see quoted online is a guess, ours included, so we don't quote one. Use the data saver setting in the app if it has one, or watch on WiFi.
Data-free access is a separate thing from streaming and it is not universal. Check our data-free betting apps page for which operators run a zero-rated site, and don't assume the zero-rating covers video.
Sport by Sport, and Where the Rights Wall Sits
Horse racing
Racing is the strongest case by a distance. Hollywoodbets and Gold Circle run GallopTV, which carries the RSA on-course feed alongside 4Racing, GBI Racing and US racing channels. World Sports Betting publishes racing streaming on its own channel, and Easybet's app listing covers UK, Irish, US and South African racing.
Third-party racing feeds usually come with a condition attached, either a funded balance or a bet on the race. Read the operator's own streaming terms before you plan an afternoon around it.
Football
Sportingbet lists football on its live video page. Betway says its app carries live sports streaming without naming competitions, so we can't tell you which leagues you'll get on any given weekend.
PSL is the honest disappointment. Domestic rights sit with SuperSport, who have sub-licensed a package to the SABC, per SuperSport. Betting sites are not part of that chain, so don't plan on watching a Soweto derby through your bookmaker.
Tennis and basketball
Sportingbet's live video page lists tennis and basketball among the sports it covers. Which specific tournaments appear depends on the feed supplier that week, and no SA operator publishes a schedule far in advance.
Rugby and cricket
Sportingbet lists rugby union and cricket on its video page. Beyond that, SuperSport holds the bulk of URC, EPCR and domestic rugby and cricket rights in South Africa, which is why bookmaker coverage of those competitions is thin. Live markets stay open whether or not there's a picture.
What we won't tell you
We're not going to name a competition an operator hasn't published. Streaming deals get renewed, dropped and geo-restricted mid-season, and a guide that promises you the Champions League in your bookmaker app is one renewal away from being a lie. If the fixture matters, check the operator's live video page on the day.
Common Streaming Issues
Stream not loading
Force-close the app and reopen. If it still won't play, the feed is probably down at the operator's end, so check their support channel rather than reinstalling.
Stream lags behind broadcast
Bookmaker streams run behind the television broadcast, and the gap varies by operator and feed. Assume you're watching the past. Never chase an in-play price off something you've just seen on a stream, because the market has already moved on it.
Geographic restrictions
Territorial restrictions are the most common reason a stream is greyed out. Betway's UK streaming terms, for one, explicitly exclude South Africa from race viewing, per Betway. A greyed-out feed usually means the rights don't reach you, not that the app is broken.
