RTP and House Edge Explained

RTP is a long-run theoretical return. It does not tell you how much a single session will return.

A 96% RTP example

At a theoretical RTP of 96%, the corresponding house edge is 4%. That is an average expectation over a large volume of play, not a guaranteed result for an individual player.

One hundred spins at R2 create R200 of turnover. Applying 96% gives an expected return of R192 and an expected loss of R8. Actual results from those 100 spins can be very different.

Turnover is not your deposit

Turnover is the sum of the stakes placed. Money returned by earlier bets can be staked again, so total turnover can exceed the original deposit.

Short sessions vary

Actual RTP is calculated from recorded returns divided by recorded stakes. A small sample can differ sharply from the game's theoretical figure.

Check the rules for the exact game edition. Neither a high quoted RTP nor a good demo session guarantees a win.

Keep payment speed separate

RTP does not measure how quickly an operator pays withdrawals. Check account and payment conditions in our SA betting sites comparison.

Questions

Does 96% RTP mean I get R96 back from R100?

Not in a particular session. The figure describes a long-run theoretical return; your session can finish with a very different result.

Is RTP the same as withdrawal speed?

No. RTP concerns game mathematics. Withdrawal processing concerns the operator, account checks and payment method.

Minimum deposit, withdrawal and verification come from each review's own record and the operator's published terms. Not yet verified means we have no record either way.
