Hollywoodbets Secures Multi-Year PSL Sponsorship Extension
Hollywoodbets has extended its title sponsorship of the Premier Soccer League in a multi-year deal reported to be worth hundreds of millions of rands. The Hollywoodbets Super League and Diski Challenge will continue carrying the brand for at least three more seasons.
Why this deal is massive
The PSL is South Africa's most-watched sports property. Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns - these clubs command millions of fans who watch every week. Having your brand on the league title is the single most powerful piece of sports advertising you can buy in this country.
Hollywoodbets first took title sponsorship in 2020 and has since become virtually synonymous with SA football betting. The brand recognition this generates is worth far more than any Google ad campaign.
What it means for the market
The sponsorship gives Hollywoodbets a competitive moat that smaller operators simply cannot match. When millions of fans see "Hollywoodbets Super League" every matchday, that is top-of-mind awareness that Betway, Supabets, and World Sports Betting have to work much harder (and spend more) to compete with.
Betway has responded with its own football sponsorships at club level, but league-wide title rights are in a different category entirely.
